Biksegn is an Assistant Professor in Public Mental Health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). He has been been working for the UK Public Health Rapid Support Team (UK-PHRST) since March 2023. He is one of the deployable team members of the UK-PHRST to support the response to mental health and psychosocial needs during public health emergencies including in infectious disease outbreaks. His research area focuses on design and evaluation of mental health interventions, mental health surveillance and measurement, evidence review and synthesis. His current project focuses on implementation and evaluation of mental health and psychosocial interventions in a context of infectious disease outbreak in a low- and middle-income country.
