Mia Akiba is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, specialising in trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). She completed her PhD at King’s College London and now researches trauma-related disorders among young people in the UK. Her work spans global and applied mental health, with experience in Asia and Africa. With a background in Development Studies from LSE and leadership roles in INGOs and government agencies in conflict-affected settings, she is committed to tackling health inequalities through interdisciplinary and community-informed approaches.
