Gergana am a Global Mental Health Distance Learning Tutor for the Distance Learning MSc in Global Health Policy Programme at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Her education and training is in psychology, psychotherapy and global mental health, and she also works as a consultant to the World Health Organization. She has previously worked on research integrating mental health into primary healthcare in Sri Lanka (the COMGAP-S project).
Her interests include implementation and scale-up of mental health interventions, building capacity for mental health outside the specialized workforce, and strengthening community and social supports for people with mental health conditions. She is also very keen on developing the community of people working in global mental health, which is the purpose of her website and newsletter dedicated to providing information and resources.
