Professor Tolib Mirzoev

Professor in Global Health Policy

Tolib is a health policy and systems researcher and Professor of Global Health Policy in the Department of Global Health and Development. Prior to joining the LSHTM in April 2021, he was Professor of International Health Policy and Systems and Head of Nuffield Centre for International Health and Development at the University of Leeds. His expertise lies in three inter-connected areas: health policies, health systems and capacity strengthening. His research is mainly in South Asia (e.g. Bangladesh, India, Vietnam) and sub-Saharan Africa (e.g. Nigeria, Ghana, Tanzania). Most of his research in the past has been applying systems and policy lenses to maternal health, but he is increasingly interested, and involved in, research focusing on mental health.
