Dr Nikita Nalawade
Nikita is an early career psychiatrist from India. She completed her Psychiatry Residency from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal (India) in 2021.
Following this, she interned with Sangath (Goa). She then pursued her MSc in Global Mental Health from King’s College London and London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and is keen on building qualitative and quantitative skills.
She aspires to further develop her clinical and research skills, that look beyond the diagnostic lens and consider the illness narrative from a socio-cultural-anthropological perspective and to be able to bridge the gap between psychiatry and global mental health especially in lower middle-income settings. Currently, she’s working on INTREPID II as a research assistant.
