Maria Camila Garcia Duran
María Camila completed her Bachelor of Science in Psychology (Hons) at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (Bogotá, Colombia) in 2016 and her MSc in Clinical Mental Health Sciences at University College London (UCL) in 2018. She is currently pursuing her PhD in the Department of Health Services and Population Research at King's College London.
María Camila has experience coordinating research projects aimed at designing, piloting, and evaluating mental health interventions for vulnerable populations, mainly those affected by the Colombian armed conflict. In Colombia, she has worked with the Population Health Department of Fundación Santa Fe de Bogotá and the University of Los Andes. Her PhD research aims to understand how major interventions, programs, or policy efforts to build peace and end conflict influence the mental health of populations directly and indirectly affected by war and conflict. María Camila is a recipient of the LISS DTP Scholarship.
