Georgina’s research interests focus on the evaluation of both the implementation and outcomes of services for mental health in low-and-middle income settings. Her PhD research is a collaboration with Partners in Health Mexico and is looking at the integration of a mental health programme in primary health care clinics.

She has an MSc in Global Mental Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience at King's College London (2013) and a BA in Psychology from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City (2011).

Georgina has worked on the evaluation of development projects in an NGO in Mexico. She has also worked as a research assistant at the Mexican Institute of Psychiatry in a project looking at the impact of the deportation of parents on the mental health of their children. Whilst studying for her PhD, Georgina has collaborated on a multi-programme evaluation project for the Mental Health Innovation Network. She has taught undergraduate students, facilitated seminars for masters level students and written content for online modules. Recently she designed and conducted a public engagement project which tackled mental health related stigma in the rural communities of Chiapas where she conducts her PhD research.
