STRENGTHS (Syrian Refugees Mental Health Care Systems)

STRENGTHS aims to provide effective community-based health care implementation strategies to scale-up the delivery and uptake of evidence-based mental health interventions in different country contexts. Specifically, STRENGTHS focuses on the implementation of a trans-diagnostic mental health intervention (Problem Management Plus/PM+) to strengthen the responsiveness of the health system in countries taking in a large proportion of Syrian refugees. Trials will be conducted in each study countries to evaluate effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of PM+ (individual format, group format, children, e-health intervention). The responsiveness of the health system will be assessed through rapid appraisal methodology in each study countries before implementation. Surveys will be conducted to measure prevalence of mental disorders among Syrian refugees, and to determine current access to mental health care.
